Stagecoach announces new Matlock bus services with trio of dedicated drivers

Stagecoach has announced it has won the tender to operate two local bus services in Matlock with a trio of friendly, regular drivers serving the routes.

Dave, Jonny and Kay will become familiar faces to passengers in the town as they will be the dedicated drivers on the M1 and M4 bus services.

Matt Davies, Stagecoach Yorkshire managing director said: “We’re really pleased to be running these services and very proud to announce our team of dedicated drivers to show our commitment to Matlock and the local community.

“Our ‘MatlockBus’ branded vehicle will stand out around town. Our day and week unlimited travel tickets will additionally be valid on the M1 and M4 which will provide convenient connections in to our popular Gold service X17 to Chesterfield and Sheffield.

“The combination of regular drivers and our easy travel tools including our Stagecoach Bus App and contactless payment mean that whether passengers are making a trip to the shops or looking for a great-value ride to the rail station, the M1 and M4 are an attractive and easy way to travel.”

The M1 Cavendish Park / Asker Lane service will run up to every hour on Mondays to Fridays from the top of town to the rail station, via County Hall, the town centre and Sainsburys.

The M4 Hurst Farm Estate service will also run up to every hour on Mondays to Fridays from the estate to the rail station, via Matlock Green, the town centre and Sainsburys.

Stagecoach will launch both services on May 29.
