Wakefield’s Annual Christmas Charity Lunch (WACCL) has almost sold out with just 20 seats available. With tickets starting at just £50 per head and tables at £500 many companies have had their seats reserved for the last year!
Referred to as the date that Wakefield is closed for business, bringing together hundreds of people from across the corporate community, this year’s event takes place at Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield on Thursday 13 December from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
With entertainment from the talented young people from Theatre Royal Wakefield’s Performance Academy to look forward to, there will also be a raffle and games to join in with and enjoy. The event is always a huge success and has raised more than £100,000 for local charities in the last six years.
Beneficiaries include Theatre Royal Wakefield Performance Academy, Levi Star, My Burns Club and Laila Milly Foundation.
Chairman of WACCL, Ian Taylor, comments: “We always have a great response to WACCL and know that many businesses use this as an opportunity to have a Christmas celebration with work colleagues and clients. It’s always a great day and people really do get into the spirit of the event which is to have fun and raise some much-needed fund for some great causes.
“This is the first year that we have sold so many tickets before officially launching, which is great, but we don’t want people to be disappointed. For all those that would like tickets, we would urge them to get in touch and to reserve their places as we will soon be to full capacity.”
