Escape Game Launches New Mission

An exciting new game has arrived at York’s award-winning escape game venue, Can You Escape.

Operation H.E.R.O sets players the mission of saving York’s missing Force Four superheroes; Hermes, Oculo, Torus and Badger, who have been captured and held in an unknown location.  Teams will have 60 minutes to put their problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills to the test to locate Force Four and return them to York before it’s too late and the city descends into chaos!

H.E.R.O is the third game to be launched at Can You Escape since it opened it’s doors in York in May 2016 and joins Operation Lone Eagle in offering visitors a new and innovative experience to enjoy in the city.

Can You Escape Director, Alastair Watson, commented, “we’re really excited about launching our new H.E.R.O game in York and providing another challenging escape mission!  We’re looking forward to inviting players to gather their own squad to see if they have what it takes to save Force Four!”

Escape games have grown in popularity over the last few years and the attraction is set to continue, particularly as The Crystal Maze makes a comeback on our screens.  They offer players the chance to immerse themselves in themed missions and use their mental and physical skills to solve a series of puzzles, cryptic clues and challenges against the clock.  Escape games attract groups of friends and families of all ages and are also an excellent team building activity to enjoy with work colleagues.

The launch of the new game comes as Can You Escape? wins a Visit York Tourism Award for Best Newcomer in 2017.  The escape games venue pipped five other shortlisted finalists to the post to win the award which was judged on criteria such as commitment to excellence and customer service.

Alastair Watson added, “we’re delighted to have won the Visit York Tourism Award for Best Newcomer and look forward to continuing to offer an exceptional experience for visitors to York and locals alike.  Escape games are a great activity to enjoy with friends and family so it’s fantastic to get recognition as a new tourism venue that offers visitors something that’s a little bit different.”
