A popular South Gosforth barbershop is under new ownership, with help and support from Peter Millican Law.
Perry Shardlow and Rachel Lee have bought the well-established Wilson Barbershop, on Station Road in South Gosforth. Perry, 25, will be running the shop ‘day to day’ while Rachel, 24, will be assisting in the business management. Perry commented: “Purchasing Wilson Barbershop was a win-win situation. We love the South Gosforth area, and when we discovered the business for sale felt it was absolutely the right purchase for us. It’s a modern barbershop business in an ideal location. The shop is known for its focus on great service, and that won’t change. Customers shouldn’t notice any difference, despite the change in ownership.”
Ricky Handa of Peter Millican Law advised the couple on the purchase of the business. He said: “It’s been a pleasure to see Perry and Rachel’s dream come to fruition. They have bought a well-established and popular business, one that suits them well. It’s great to see a smooth transfer of a business, with no disruption to existing staff and the future of the business secured. We wish them all the very best for the future.”
Perry added: “Whilst we knew our ambition was to run our own barbershop, we have little experience of the purchase process and were helped and advised throughout by Ricky and the team at Peter Millican Law. We often felt their support went beyond what was required of our lawyers, and, as a result, we’re in a better position now to run the business.
“It was always my dream to open my own barbershop, especially after nine years in the industry. I’m so lucky my partner supported me to make it possible whilst she juggles her own job as well.”
Wilson Barbershop was launched in 2013 by Robyn Wilson, who went on to be shortlisted for the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards just two years later.
