Durham Young Professionals board welcomes two new members

Durham Young Professionals, a vibrant network of young professionals in Durham, is pleased to welcome two new members to its board.

Nicola Coleman and Daniel Roe will work with the current board, engaging with the local business community and creating opportunities for young professionals to connect with one another locally.

Durham Young Professionals aims to provide open, inclusive and accessible networking opportunities, and they hold at least four informal events each year.

Their events give professionals aged 35 or under a chance to meet other professionals at a similar stage in their career. The network’s members hope to support one another throughout their careers.

Expanding the board with two new members will assist Durham Young Professionals in building the community by connecting with a wider range of young professionals in the locality.

Business Development Director, Business Durham, Sarah Slaven welcomed the announcement:

‘As the economic development organisation for County Durham, we are delighted to see the success of Durham Young Professionals network. We hope that these two new appointments will help the network continue to grow and engage the younger local business community forming connections that will benefit County Durham for years to come.’

Nicola Coleman is an audit and accounts manager at Clive Owen LLP, with experience across a wide range of sectors. Nicola enjoys swimming, travelling and nights out with friends and family.

Daniel Roe is the CEO of Concision, a message-based consultancy in Durham. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys good coffee, cycling and kayaking.

The network has hosted several events in 2018 including a successful St Patrick’s Day celebration at Whisky River Cocktail Bar, and a delicious networking breakfast at Tango. Their next event is an evening cruise aboard the Prince Bishop River Cruiser on 29th June.
