Free Google skills conference comes to Bradford

Businesses from the Leeds City Region are invited to attend a free event in Bradford next month aimed at helping firms get the most out of Google.

Organised by the Government-backed Digital Enterprise programme, which helps businesses to grow by upgrading their digital technology and skills, the event, at the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford on 19 February, will examine how organisations can use Google to tap into a range of business tools and benefits, many of which are free of charge.

Workshops and sessions will range from explanations of how firms can understand and analyse their own data and target audience; advice on using Google’s business cloud collaboration and productivity apps, G-Suite; and help building a Google toolkit with products such as such as Google analytics and Google ads. Other subjects covered include YouTube and video marketing and a question and answer session with two of the Digital Knowledge Exchange’s digital champions.

Muz Mumtaz who heads the Digital Enterprise programme, said: “Many SMEs are using just a fraction of Google’s powerful capabilities, and discovering exactly what a vast and largely untapped resource it actually is can be incredibly useful.

“Our Digital Knowledge Exchange events have become a go-to resource for insightful sessions on tech and they deliver practical tools for business. The events are a key part of our mission to ensure businesses in the Leeds City Region have the knowledge and the technology they need to succeed and grow. We expect tickets for this one to go fast, it’s definitely worth reserving a place and there is no cost involved.”

Since its launch in 2017 Digital Enterprise has helped over 700 Yorkshire businesses to boost their broadband connectivity and upgrade their digital technology with a total investment of £3.4m via its Connectivity and Digital Growth vouchers. More than 1,800 jobs are expected to be created in the Leeds City Region as a result. Since its creation, over 550 businesses have accessed the Digital Knowledge Exchange programme.
