Garbutt + Elliott to offer invaluable advice on Research and Development Tax Credit

Steven Holmes, Business Tax Director, Garbutt + Elliott

Garbutt + Elliott are pleased to be guest presenting at DRIAD’s December event, on funding innovation projects. The York and Leeds based accountancy firm will be discussing Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit and how innovative new businesses can benefit from the relief.

DRIAD is an international consultancy offering innovative companies bespoke support in their Research & Development projects. They specialise in competitive grant writing and since 2014 have helped over 120 high-technology start-ups and SMEs to raise over £30m in funding across EU.

On December 5th, DRIAD is hosting an event that will help guide you through the ways you can achieve your goals of obtaining funding for your innovation projects, without the need for private investment. The DRIAD team will offer a series of presentations looking at which grants are available to cover part of the costs of your innovation project, from validation to implementation as well as taking you through the basics of competitive R&D grants.

Steve Holmes, Business Tax Director, at Garbutt + Elliott, will then take to the floor to explain the finer points of R&D tax relief, including how it interacts with grant claims, along with hints and tips to maximise your R&D claim.

Richard Blackburn from Keracol will also be guest speaking at the event, discussing how to build and run a start-up without private investment.

The event will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on December 5th at Platform, New Station Street, Leeds. The venue, which literally sits on top of the train station is excellently positioned for easy access, making for a convenient location for an event that is sure to book up quickly.
