Gin Bar Unleashes the Roaring Twenties in Leeds

Tailors Opening with Matt and Jam
Tailors Opening with Matt and Jam

Nestled in amongst the historical arches of the Grand Arcade in the heart of Leeds, you’ll find a quintessentially British bespoke tailor by day. There’s a possibility, if you give the correct nod during your fitting, you may be offered a tipple whilst choosing your luxurious, Yorkshire made fabrics, linings, and finishes.

But come 6pm, Thursday to Saturday, the tape measure drops and the illustrious gin lounge comes alive, as the roaring twenties are unleashed, mixing the house special, a new bespoke gin, aptly named Tailors, with tonics and cocktails of the era.

Reviving the long-lost art of bespoke tailoring, the small independent store is hosted by The Gentleman’s Tailor,Tuesday through to Saturday – taking fittings by appointment only to dress the discerning gentlemen and made-men of Yorkshire.

Offering the perfect measure in both men’s fashion styling and gin, Tailors, in the Grand Arcade, is a concept store with a difference. From housing its own small batch gin, made bespoke with hints of bergamot, to the decadent 1920’s gin bar, with frivolities which unravel throughout the night. This is a gin bar with a difference.

Step back in time, drink  gin or champagne and dance like no-one is watching, as the prohibition era is magnificently re-awakened in the heart of Leeds. Come on down in your greatest Gatsby glad rags, don your Charleston-dancing shoes as the night begins. Expect electro swing crackling on the gramophone, and a few familiar faces in the joint.

Rummage in the vintage costume racks, find the perfect tail coat, top hat or flapper dress, strike a pose against the art deco interiors, and pull up a pew around one of the upcycled sewing tables, sipping on ‘the perfect measure’ of Tailors Gin and tonic.

Join in on the razzle dazzle as the roaring twenties are unleashed, weekends at TailorsGin Bar, Grand Arcade, Leeds.
