Housebuilder supports Morpeth charity with new funding initiative

Barratt Homes South Fields supports Contact Morpeth Mental Health with Community Fund Scheme

Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes North East, has launched a new initiative designed to support the communities in which it builds. The Community Fund will see the housebuilder donate up to £1,000 each month to a community group or charity across the North East region. The first charity chosen to benefit from the new fund is Contact Morpeth Mental Health, which is close to Barratt Homes’ South Fields development in Morpeth.

The housebuilder’s £1,000 donation to the independent charity will help them continue their important work in the Morpeth area, which includes working with local people to improve their mental well-being through self-development and recovery, and includes programmes such as counselling, development of life skills and training opportunities.

Ashlea Wright, Sales Manager at Barratt Homes’ South Fields development, commented: “We are delighted to launch the Community Fund initiative across our North East division, which will enable us to continue to support the communities and causes around our developments. We’re proud to donate this month’s fund to such a worthwhile cause within the Morpeth area, and are pleased that we are able to help the team at Contact Morpeth Mental Health continue with the incredible work that they do.”

Speaking on the donation, Rhona Dunn, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Contact Morpeth Mental Health, said: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Barratt Homes for their generous donation. As an independent charity, we rely solely on support and donations from the local community, which is why it’s so great having initiatives such as the Community Fund in place as it allows us to provide counselling to those who need it most.”
