Lancashire’s The Northern Dough Co is shortlisted for two Sainsbury’s Magazine awards

The Lancashire-based foodie brand, founded by husband and wife Chris and Amy Cheadle, has recently celebrated seven years in business. Now, they could become double award winners in the Sainsbury’s Magazine Awards, 2018.

The company produces 100% natural frozen dough which is enjoyed by households across the UK for home-made pizzas, pies, puddings and breads. It gives people the ability to make their own recipe creations with ease and is found in the freezer aisle at Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Booths and Ocado.

The ‘simply roll and create’ style dough has captured the attention of the ‘distinctive brands’ team at Sainsbury’s, appointed to find the most engaging and innovative products from small producers across the UK.

The team selected just five products, from thousands of companies supplying Sainsbury’s across hundreds of categories, to be shortlisted for its new ‘up and coming brands’ category. The Northern Dough Co is also nominated in the ‘family favourites’ category, and is one of very few brands to be included in more than one category.


Co-Owner of the Northern Dough Co, Amy Cheadle, said it’s simplicity is key to their success.

She commented: “Bringing people together through food is behind everything that we do at the Northern Dough Co.

“From producing the dough in it’s simplest and most natural form to creating tasty recipes that all the family will love, our dough makes food fun and easy.”

“These awards are incredibly important to us because the results are determined by the public vote. If we are lucky enough to be announced as winners, we’ll know it’s because we’ve made a positive impact with supermarket shoppers.”

There’s a huge incentive to register your vote too. Entrants can win a full day class for two at Hampshire’s Laniston House Season Cookery School, plus a luxury stay in the hotel’s master suite, plus dinner in it’s renowned Avenue restaurant.

The Sainsbury’s Magazine Awards are open for votes throughout October with entries closing on October 31st. The winners will be announced at a glittering award ceremony in November.
