LOFT opens larger Manchester HQ to manage expansion and post COVID rules

Residential furnishings company LOFT has reopened its Manchester HQ with a complete refurbishment by Consensus Workspace.

The 50-strong team will now roll out a phased return to work, thanks to the redesign by the Altrincham commercial fitout company, which has completely opened up the organisation’s entrance and 500 sqm floorspace at Old Trafford, in order to comply with post-COVID regulations and make room for expansion.

Ben Etherington, Director at LOFT, says: “Consensus has provided a full restyling and completely recalibrated the layout – doubling the size of our kitchen, creating completely new access routes and delivering a much more open plan scheme. They have created a customer-focused aesthetic that reflects our brand and design-led approach to interiors, so that we can work with the team and clients in the new space.”

Based on the success of the refit, which took just four weeks, LOFT has now tasked Consensus with the refit of its second Manchester office, which sit alongside its warehouse and distribution depot. The company also has an office and depot in London.

Ollie Plastow, Project Director at Consensus Workspace, comments: “We know the Loft team and understand their business well, so we were delighted to create this new HQ area for them. The brief shifted a few times during the work, as government guidance changed, but we were able to quickly adapt our approach to deliver within the timeframe and budget.”

“The space has developed from a showroom to a larger office to support our growth, so this was much-needed from a practical point of view as well as to respond to post-COVID requirements,” concludes Ben. “We are delighted with the results and look forward to returning to work together.”
