Following a 20-year stint together at creative agencies across the North West, Adam Johnson (prev. THG Studios, mobedia) and Gary Bannister-Simm (prev. Vodafone, THG Studios, mobedia) are now independent – launching their creative partnership with a trio of project wins for high-street brand mamas & papas and Las Vegas-based P1 Padel.
adam+gary specialise in video, motion and VFX. They work directly with brands, and also partner with agencies to power-up their in-house capabilities, expand their services, and break-down the barriers to entry for emerging technologies like Augmented Reality, AI, VR and Unreal Engine.
The pair have enjoyed early transatlantic success, delivering 3D animations for P1 Padel, the largest padel venue in the USA. Their work is now seen by customers at their Las Vegas location and online channels.
Simon Davison, Co-founder of P1 Padel said: “When we launched our brand, I knew exactly who to call. This isn’t my first experience working with adam+gary, they’ve supported a few of my business over the years and they always do a cracking job. For P1 Padel, they’ve helped to bring some magic to our brand which we, and our customers, really love.”
adam+gary have also partnered with Manchester creative content studio Rig2, where they helped deliver the 2023 Christmas and Spring/Summer 2024 video campaigns for mamas & papas – alongside the photography, production and styling teams at Rig2.
Adam Johnson, Creative Technologist said: “Our working partnership has been built on pushing each other to find the best creative, practical or technical solution to any problem; never letting anything get in the way of a big idea. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help even more businesses answer the question “but how do we do this?”
Gary Bannister-Simm, Director of Moving Image added: “It’s been a wild start to independent life, jumping into the projects with mamas & papas and P1 Padel has been the perfect way to kick things off. The partnership we’ve forged with Rig2 is a recipe for success – we have complimentary skillsets and our approach to projects and ways of working are perfectly aligned.”
Adam and Gary have previously delivered 1000s of video and motion projects for brands like Kia, Santander, Suzuki and Carex, and are now actively taking on new commissions and agency partnerships – working across for anything from simple VFX to full-scale TVC production.
