Union Quay Dental welcomed a fantastic turnout to its North Shields practice last week as guests gathered to celebrate the completion of a major refurbishment and get a first look inside its recently transformed home on the Fish Quay. The special open evening brought together a mix of existing and prospective clients, local business owners, members of the North Shields community, practice staff, friends and family, who were invited to tour the newly refurbished practice, enjoy food and drinks and meet the team behind Union Quay Dental.

The practice occupies a Grade II listed building on the Fish Quay, and the refurbishment has transformed the space while retaining the character and heritage of the historic building. Guests were welcomed by practice owners Jarlath McAteer and Jamie Dury, who said they were “blown away” by the level of support from local businesses, patients and the wider community. The evening was also an opportunity for guests to meet the wider Union Quay Dental team, find out more about the services available at the practice and see first-hand the investment that has gone into creating a modern dental practice within one of North Shields’ distinctive historic buildings.

Jarlath McAteer said: “We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better response. To see so many people come through the doors was fantastic and it was particularly special to see such a great mix of our existing clients, local businesses and neighbours, friends, family and people from the wider community.

“We’ve invested heavily in transforming Union Quay Dental, but we wanted to retain the character of the building and make sure it still felt part of the Fish Quay and the wider North Shields community. “Jamie and I were genuinely blown away by the support on the night. It was a brilliant opportunity to show people what we’ve been working on and, most importantly, to thank everyone who has supported us.”

Jamie Dury added: “The response from local people and businesses has been incredible. We’re really proud of what we’ve created here and the open evening gave us the chance to share it with the people who are going to be such an important part of Union Quay Dental’s future. “It was a fantastic evening and a great way to mark the next chapter for the practice.”

Guests enjoyed food and drinks throughout the evening and were also given Union Quay Dental goody bags to take home.

The refurbishment forms part of the practice’s wider plans for growth, with Union Quay Dental continuing to develop its team, services and patient offering from its Fish Quay base. The owners are keen for the practice to play an active role in the local community, building relationships with neighbouring businesses and organisations as well as providing high-quality dental care to patients across North Tyneside and beyond
