LSN Group to launch in Leeds with speed-networking event for female entrepreneurs

LSN Group founders Sarah Small and Sally Oddy

The LSN Group is set to launch in Leeds with its speed-networking event for female entrepreneurs and women in business in Yorkshire. Founded by Leeds-based business owners Sally Oddy and Sarah Small, LSN (Learn Support Network) Group is a national membership community for female founders who want to up-level, up-skill, collaborate, network, be supported and learn.

November sees the duo host their first live event ‘Speed Learn Network’ which will see up to 25 female founders speed-network at an evening event in Leeds. Based on the concept of speed-dating, one group of guests will be seated whilst the other group circulates the room in a structured session which will enable each guest to pitch to, and learn from, every attendee.

LSN Group co-founder Sally Oddy, who set up her business Opal Marketing six years ago and was previously a marketing manager in the legal sector said: “We are extremely excited to host our first live event, Speed Learn Network. This event epitomises the vision of LSN Group – learning from fellow women in business in a friendly environment, promoting our skills and expertise, and creating a supportive community. We can’t wait to see the collaborations and business generated from our inaugural event.”

In addition to hosting live events, LSN Group offers monthly masterclasses; peer-to-peer mentoring sessions; advice, guidance and inspiration via its online community. Members learn from experts, discover the challenges faced by female founders across the UK, and gain insight into the solutions achieved.

Co-founder Sarah Small, who has offered a virtual business support service through her business aDigitalMe for over two years following a career in project management, said: “Sally and I met online and bonded over a shared frustration at the lack of business-focused networks that would allow us to upskill and learn in the company of a supportive community of like-minded people. We decided it was time to take matters into their own hands and create what we’d both been looking for and LSN was born.

“With a keen focus on business and learning, and a good mix of on- and offline support, we give our members access to virtual knowledge bundles on subjects like finance, marketing, people, process and systems so they can learn at a pace to suit them and be part of a supportive community. As small business owners, working from home, we feel really proud that we’ve been able to create something that we know will help the increasing numbers of women who are founding and running their own businesses.”

LSN Group’s ‘Speed Learn Network’ event will take place at the Dakota Deluxe Hotel in Leeds on 20 November from 7:30pm.
