Charles Robb Funeralcare is donating a percentage of its profits to worthwhile causes and charities in the region, raising nearly £3,000 since November 2018.

The funds are being raised as part of the Co-op’s national 1% scheme, which has allowed members around the UK to donate a total of £19 million since November 2017.

To date, the Levenshulme funeral home has raised £1,032 for The Oasis Centre, a Gorton-based community centre which provides crisis support to local residents.

The home has also raised £963 Citywise Mentoring Ltd, which provides mentoring support to disadvantaged young people. Additionally, £884 was raised for All Arts Media, which uses radio production and broadcast training to engage vulnerable members of the community in Manchester.

The Co-op’s nationwide scheme commits to 1% of all sales, including branded products, carrier bags, and wider services within the group, being donated to local causes.

Peter Sadler-Eastwood, Funeral Director at Charles Robb Funeralcare says: “It’s an absolute honour to be able to support all of our groups, which have been voted for by our members. Each one is hugely important within the community and their work is nothing short of outstanding.

“We’re really passionate about supporting local organisations in the area and will continue to support a range of charities throughout the year.”

Customers and service users can go online to see the causes their local Co-op is supporting and choose which charity they want their money to go towards.
