Sheffield roofing specialists, Martin-Brooks, have delivered an early Christmas present to six local charities, donating a total of £3,900.
The firm has distributed the proceeds from its latest round of fundraising among the organisations it has built long term relationships with through its charity fund.
Representatives from Amy’s Retreat, Cavendish Cancer Care, MS Therapy Centre, The Rowan School, Sheffield Talking News and St Vincent’s furniture scheme gathered at Martin-Brooks’ Darnall offices to receive cheques of £650. Each organisation provides a valuable service to the Sheffield community and relies heavily on donations from businesses and the public to survive.
Martin-Brooks’ founding partners, Jeremy Martin and Gerald Brooks, presented the charities with their donations. Gerald said: “It was a pleasure to meet, once again, with the dedicated volunteers who are the backbone of these small, independent organisations and to hear about the positive impact the money we raise has on the people they assist.”
Ten years ago, Martin-Brooks pledged to raise £25,000 for local good causes to mark its 25th anniversary. The firm has now donated £26,400 to date and is committed to continuing its charitable work, through various initiatives, most notably its annual golf day. The event attracts more than 50 competitors from across the construction industry and this year raised more than £1,500.
