Rob Dobson, Founder of Northern Comfort announced that the collaborative agency will offer Google Ventures (GV) Design Sprints.
A Design Sprint is a five-day process for rapidly solving big challenges, creating new products, or improving existing ones. It compresses potentially months of work into a few days. The Northern Comfort team have been trained by Berlin-based A J & Smart, world-leaders in the Design Sprint process . It is the fastest way to find out if a product is worth developing, if a feature is worth the effort, or if a value proposition is really valid. Companies such as Facebook, ebay and LEGO have all successfully adopted the Design Sprint process.
The process reveals a concrete plan at the end of the course that offers a robust product fit for investment and branding.
Design Sprint runs like this:
- Day one, the team and client work to define the scope of the week and any questions that need answering.
- Day two; finds solutions and reviews existing ideas.
- Day three; critiques day two’s work and picks a winning idea to refine.
- Day four; sees the team build a high fidelity prototype.
- The final day five sees the prototype tested on real users.
Rob Dobson explains;
“Working with companies to solve their problems – that’s how we work, and what we’ve been doing for years. We’re always looking for new ways we can help companies rapidly develop and test solutions to problems, and the Google Design Sprint process is a great way to get a team to answer important questions quickly and efficiently. With our network of specialist freelancers we can put together the perfect team to collaborate with companies on specific Sprints, helping them to move projects forward more rapidly than ever before. We’re looking forward to working with companies in the region to help share and spread the huge benefits this process can bring. “
