Roland Dransfield has been appointed to handle public relations by two major UK leisure brands.

The Manchester based integrated communications agency has been tasked with launching the legendary Chinawhite nightclub in Manchester city centre. And it has also been retained to boost sign-ups to Viper, the nightlife app.

Chinawhite in London has been a regular haunt for a who’s who of celebrities like Kate Moss, Drake, Tom Cruise and Prince Harry. In recent years, the founders created the Libertine brand for its weekend events which brought a new generation of celebrities and famous faces like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kendall Jenner and Lewis Hamilton. The Manchester launch coincides with the 20th anniversary of the legendary nightclub brand, which originally launched in November 1998.

Viper is a mobile app which allows night time revellers to upgrade to VIP, queue jump and even buy drinks packages in real time from some of Manchester’s most popular bars and clubs. It has already won praise and awards for its owners.

James Spallone, managing director of Chinawhite, said: “We wanted a PR agency that instinctively knew Manchester like no-one else, and we’ve found that in Roland Dransfield. They came highly recommended and it quickly became apparent exactly why. We’ve high hopes for the future with Roland Dransfield on board.”

And Craig Davies, co-founder of Viper, said: “We’ve already won awards for innovation as a start-up tech brand. We needed to find an agency who knew how to build Viper’s brand awareness through media relations and introductions to the movers and shakers in and around the city. Roland Dransfield demonstrated all that and much more. We’re really pleased to be working alongside them.”

Adam Moss, Roland Dransfield Head of Consumer, said: “Both Chinawhite and Viper are at the cutting edge of Manchester’s ever-expanding nightlife scene. We are delighted to have been appointed by two very different brands which have one aim in common – to make an indelible mark on the night-time economy here.

“Chinawhite is iconic among clubbers and celebrities alike. It is the ‘go to’ venue for music industry, stage, screen and sports stars from all over the world at its iconic venue in London. We plan to make it equally as indispensable here in Manchester.

“Viper is an app which makes going out on the town, whether to a bar or a club in Manchester, completely hassle-free. We loved the concept as soon as we saw it and we’re thrilled to be involved with this bold new start-up.”

Roland Dransfield is celebrating 22 years in business in 2018 and only launched its new consumer division in July 2017. Since then the agency has landed a clutch of high-profile accounts including 20 Stories restaurant, national bar and restaurant company Drake & Morgan, Britain’s fastest growing sports educator UCFB, fashion brand MANCUB, Boodles Tennis at the Mere and Berry’s Tennis Classic, The North West Football Awards and hotel and restaurant collection The Know Group.
