Screwfix secures long term lease at Retford’s Hallcroft Trade Centre

Leading property development and investment Group Strawsons Property has secured Screwfix as the latest tenant of its North Nottinghamshire Hallcroft Trade Centre, with the business expected to take occupancy early next year.

With Screwfix securing almost 5,000 sq ft at the site as part of a long-term lease agreement, the move further bolsters the trade offering in the area.

The announcement of Screwfix’s move on to the estate, which is prominently located on Hallcroft Road, coincides with the refurbishment and extension of the 1950s era industrial estate to a modern vibrant trade centre.

Over the coming months a further expansion will create additional space for the trade centre, with work scheduled for completion in Spring 2019.

Commercial property agents Brown & Co have been appointed to oversee the letting of The Hallcroft Trade Centre, with Senior Associate Paul White saying that interest in the remaining units ‘is high’, due to a ‘real need for high quality facilities’ with good parking and excellent loading access in the area.

This latest announcement from Strawsons Property follows recent news that Screwfix, the UK’s largest multi-channel store selling trade tools, accessories and hardware products, has also committed to a newly constructed unit at the Strawsons Property’s Old Mill Lane estate at Mansfield Woodhouse.

Adam Jones of Strawsons Property said: “We are delighted to confirm Screwfix as a tenant on another one of our estates. Hallcroft Trade Centre is currently undergoing a significant refurbishment and expansion programme to modernise the estate so that it continues to be a highly desirable business location for many more years to come.

“In addition to Screwfix, we are in discussions with a range of interested parties who are looking to take advantage of the remaining units’ prominent location and proximity to other leading trade outlets.”
