Switalskis clinical negligence team rises up industry rankings

The Switalskis Solicitors team

The expertise and client service in the Switalskis Solicitors clinical negligence team has been recognised with a move up the rankings in the annual Legal 500 guide.

Court of Protection director and solicitor Alex Guy is also highlighted in this year’s guide as a rising star ‘next generation lawyer’ with ‘encyclopaedic knowledge of the practices of the Court of Protection and the role of professional deputy in the context of personal injury awards’.

Switalskis’ clinical negligence department now sits in the second tier of firms in the region, where it is praised for its ‘strong team’ that combines ‘excellent technical and client skills’ with ‘a passion for justice’. Considered ‘one of the biggest hitters in the area’, the team is spread across two offices, with Suzanne Munroe heading the practice in Huddersfield and Janet Baker leading the team in Sheffield.

The Switalskis criminal, personal injury and family teams are also ranked in the Legal 500 guide, which is published annually based on independent research that looks at legal expertise and client service.

The criminal defence team is recognised for its experience in representing vulnerable individuals, including those with mental health problems and young people and its expertise acting in abuse cases and those concerning mental capacity law.

The personal injury and brain and serious injury practices, based across Switalskis’ Wakefield, Doncaster and South Yorkshire offices, are highlighted for successfully representing clients nationally against both public and private institutions and individuals.

The guide also references the domestic violence, children, financial, cohabitation and pre-marriage expertise within Switalskis’ substantial family team, alongside the complex and sensitive child law matters frequently handled by the child care team, which acts for people in public law children, adoption act and care proceedings.

Switalskis Managing Director John Durkan says, “I am incredibly proud to see our clinical negligence, criminal, personal injury, Court of Protection and family teams recognised in this way, but I am equally proud of the other departments across all of our regional offices, because I know that the expertise and client service highlighted by the Legal 500 is replicated in all parts of the business.”

Switalskis Solicitors operates from 12 offices across Yorkshire, providing legal advice and representation for people and businesses in the region and beyond.
