Yorkshire-based integrated agency The Bigger Boat (TBB) and its sister company, Scriba PR, pledge to develop a new website worth 20K to Huddersfield Town Foundation — in recognition of naming the organisation as charity of the year.

News follows the charity’s next phase of organisational development, as it continues to provide accessible sport and educational opportunities to enrich the lives of those residing and working in Kirklees.

With both agencies having been a part of Huddersfield Town Foundation’s marketing sub-committee for almost 12 months — helping to advise and implement the charity’s wider marketing strategy — the donation of a new web platform is the natural next step for the agencies’ service and support offering.

Siobhan Atkinson, CEO of Huddersfield Town Foundation, said: “To be selected as the charity of choice and to have the opportunity to develop a new website for Huddersfield Town Foundation with expertise from the brilliant teams at Scriba and The Bigger Boat is wonderful.
“The collaboration shows how local companies and charities can come together for the wider good of the community. The team can’t wait to get started on brainstorming ideas and launch a new site in a few months’ time.”

Set to publish its community impact report in the latter half of 2024, Huddersfield Town Foundation’s key focus is to showcase the depth of activities the charity runs, as well as the people it supports and educates within the community.

Siobhan continued: “The new website will be a great opportunity for people to understand what we do as a foundation, as it’s complex. We’re time-strapped to tell all our stories but a new online platform will be our biggest tool to be able to do just that.”

Talking on both agencies’ backing of the charity, The Bigger Boat’s operations director, Emma Heslop, said: “Inspired by the work carried out by the charity in the local community and with the marketing and PR support we’ve been able to give the foundation already, it became apparent the charity was in need of a new website if it was to continue expanding its reach and delivering maximum benefit to those living within Kirklees.”

Grace Lenihan, account director at Scriba PR, said: “Being a part of the sub-committee is a huge privilege. We hope the donation of a brand-new website will be pivotal in raising more money for the charity, as well as provide the community access to readily available information and resources, quickly. The foundation offers so much, and it will be great to see that brought to the forefront with a new website.”

The Bigger Boat acquired communications agency Scriba PR in June 2024. Both agencies have supported a number of charities to date, with monetary donations and pro bono marketing and PR support. These charities include Leeds Baby Bank, ANDYSMANCLUB, Yorkshire Children’s Centre, Thrombosis UK, Conscious Youth, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and Cancer Support Bradford & Airedale
