The Botanist Pairs With Didsbury Gin

Didsbury Gin has this week announced an exciting venture with The New World Trading Company (NWTC), who have opted to form a partnership with the Northern born spirit, to roll out the original Didsbury Gin across all of The Botanist bars in the UK.

Serving botanical cocktails, and a huge selection of world and local beers and ales alongside deli and rotisserie inspired food, there are currently fifteen of the venues in the UK, in Alderley Edge, Birmingham, Chester, Didsbury, Farnham, Knutsford, Leeds, MediaCityUK, Manchester, Reading, Newcastle, Marlow, Sheffield, West Bridgford & York

The craft Didsbury Gin combines traditional artisan methods and infuses modern botanicals using a blend of hand peeled fresh citrus, British roots and hand cracked juniper berries. The result is clean, crisp & zesty – good enough to drink neat, perfect with tonic and delightful in cocktails.

Taking inspiration from the vibrancy and colourful nature of Parsonage and Fletcher Moss botanical Gardens in south Manchester, Didsbury Gin is a refreshing citrus twist on a classic London dry gin, with a Mancunian background. Created by two Manchester gin enthusiasts Mark Smallwood and Liam Manton, Didsbury Gin, has been hailed by Vogue Magazine as ‘one of the most exciting new British gins’, and is already stocked in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.

Off the back of the success of the original flavour the brand has recently introduced Raspberry and Elderflower – a pink gin variation. Hand crafted in eco-friendly copper stills, a combination of the original gin with fresh British raspberries, and subtle notes from locally foraged elderflower, the combination has proved popular with bars and restaurants throughout the North West. The limited edition flavoured gin will only be available at The Botanist Didsbury, in honour of the gin’s local roots.

Kelly Harrison, Creative Development Specialist at NWTC said “Since opening The Botanist in Didsbury last year, our northern bar experts have had Didsbury Gin increase on their radar (both quality and taste). We’ve listened to that feedback and are proud to announce that we’ll be adding Didsbury Gin to our new The Botanist drink menus from 17th July 2018. Our bartenders serve it as recommended by Didsbury Gin; with lemon thyme and grapefruit zest to enhance the variety of fresh citrus flavours and subtle herbaceous notes of the gin.”

Liam Manton of Didsbury Gin commented ‘The partnership with The Botanist is a really exciting one for us as it allows us to get Didsbury Gin in the hands of so many more gin lovers across the UK. It was important for us to partner with a venue as passionate about the spirit as we are, and we’re really pleased to be working with the team at The New World Trading Company.’

Mark Smallwood of the gin brand added ‘The concept of The Botanist is all founded on the botanicals found in food and drink, with our gin created to such a high standard due to our bespoke botanical mix, we wanted to make sure the team serving it to the public realised the importance of the perfect serve as much as we do. The team at The Botanist are all highly skilled in the art of the perfect G&T and we felt like this was a great fit for our brand.’
