Elland-based flood mitigation manufacturer, The Flood Company, have grown their client portfolio by undertaking work for three well-known brands.
The Flood Company, who design, install and maintain flood mitigation products, have carried out for work for Premier Inn in Brighouse, SPAR in Keswick and an American manufacturer with a site based in Northern Ireland.
Both Premier Inn and SPAR were involved in the 2015 Boxing Day floods where the North of England saw five inches of rain cause chaos with homes evacuated and businesses destroyed.
Following the floods, each property required a bespoke flood mitigation solution to suit the needs of the business and provide business continuity in the event of a future flood.
Premier Inn required a different type of solution to a flood door as they still needed to fully open the front door in the event of a flood. Therefore, The Flood Company designed a demountable Buffalo Aluminum Barrier Bund around the main door which created an area that would be safe from the flooding but allowed people to use the main door to be rescued.
SPAR had multiple entrance points and loading bays so The Flood Company were able to provide bespoke demountable barriers and posts. In addition, they manufactured bespoke covers to protect the barriers and powder coated them so that they blended into the aesthetics of the store.
The Flood Company were able to deliver a solution for each business that was installed discreetly and, for Premier Inn, provided no disruption to their day-to-day service.
The American manufacturer required a different type of service from The Flood Company; instead of keeping water out, the company required a solution to contain fluid inside the building in case of a major leak.
