Wakefield Business Week Welcomes Support from AD:VENTURE

AD:VENTURE has shown its support for Wakefield Business Week, which will comprise of 15 separate events over 5 days across the district.

Following the formal launch of WBW, the schedule of events will begin on Monday 1 October with Digital Disruption, Survival or Growth, delivered by AD:VENTURE, at the Advanced Skills and Innovation Centre at Wakefield College from 4.30pm – 6.30pm.

This TED style talk, presented by Silicone Valley experts on innovation practice, Herman Gyr Ph.D. and Laszlo Gyorffy M.S. will focus on how to positively deal with dramatic disruption brought about by technological developments.

Questions addressed will include how to future proof your business to manage threats and seize opportunities as the world continues to change as technology evolves at increasing speed. Ideal for those with an interest in digital, it is expected that this event will be particularly popular.


On Wednesday 3 October, AD:VENTURE will exhibit at the Wakefield Business Conference, providing advice for start-up organisations that could benefit from practical and financial support to assist them to meet their full potential.

Professional business advisors will be available to talk to companies that have big ambitions but need some support to put their ideas into practice. Taking place from 9am to 4pm, the event, which is said to be the highlight of the week is set to attract delegates from across the Leeds City Region.

Finally, on Thursday 4 October AD:VENTURE will join experts from across the district during the Wakefield Manufacturing Awards as it supports the event as sponsor of the New Manufacturer category.

Rewarding the elite manufacturers in the area showing a track record for success, dedication to employees and community investment, shortlisted organisations will enjoy a drinks reception and buffet dinner before speakers Tim Mee, Chair of Wakefield Manufacturing Forum Steering Committee and Mark Ridgway OBE, Chairman & CEO of Group Rhodes, take to the stage.
