Yorkshire Consultancy to Support Investment in China with Free Business Events

International specialist business consultancy, ConnectChina, is hosting a series of free to attend events for UK and Irish businesses looking to expand or start-up in China. The events will offer a unique vantage point for prospective investors and will showcase the growth potential and strength of the Yunnan Province, South West China as a leading business destination.

ConnectChina is encouraging businesses to explore the wealth of trade and investment opportunities in the Yunnan Province through a series of events that will bring together businesses across a variety of sectors, whether already successfully competing in the Chinese market or looking for new areas to develop in China.

As part of its contract with the Yunnan Investment Bureau, ConnectChina is focused on supporting many more companies across the UK and Ireland into China and strengthening business links, particularly across the Food and Consumer goods manufacturing, Tourism and Culture, Biomedicine, Modern Logistics, Modern Agriculture, Information, New Materials and Advanced Equipment Manufacturing sectors.

The first event was held in Huddersfield with the next being hosted in Leeds on 18 July and future events to be announced, supported by Cathay Pacific, Traveleads and Appt.

The team also recently exhibited at the 2018 International Business Festival in Liverpool, which this year placed a huge focus on UK-China trade, with up to 200 Chinese delegates gathering for the three-week event. Pamela Pan, General Manager of ConnectChina Shanghai presented ‘The Future is Yunnan’ at the Urbanisation & Cities Day.

Commenting on the opportunities for trade and investment in Yunnan, Joanna Lavan, Managing Director of ConnectChina, said:

“We want to lead the way and facilitate the expansion of many more British companies into China. The events we’re hosting are important in showcasing the very best of what the Province has to offer while providing practical advice to businesses ready to take the next step into new markets in China.”

“With Yunnan Province the third-fastest growing in China and China’s economic growth expected to continue, we want to support many more companies across the UK and Ireland into China and strengthen business links, helping the Yunnan Province continue to develop.”

ConnectChina was established in 2004 and has offices in Huddersfield and Shanghai. It specialises in providing business support services to help both public and private sectors in the UK and overseas develop trade and investment opportunities with China. Earlier this year, Joanna joined the PM, Theresa May, and a multi-sector trade delegation of more than 40 businesses from across the UK on a visit to China.
