Yorkshire homelessness charity celebrates supporters

A Yorkshire homelessness charity is hosting an event to celebrate its supporters.

Simon on the Streets has organised a supporter’s party, which will take place at Parkside Tavern on 26 July from 7pm-11pm.

The event will feature an interactive KwizzBit quiz, live music from local rock and blues band Snake Oil, a raffle offering a range of prizes, as well as the opportunity to meet the Simon on the Streets team and learn about their mission and values.

The principal aim of the event is to show appreciation to supporters and volunteers of the charity and will feature Simon on the Streets’ first ‘Supporters and Volunteers awards’.

Established in 1999, Simon on the Streets is a local, independent charity which supports those sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield.

The organisation offers outreach support on both an emotional and practical basis, as often these individuals struggle with complex mental and behavioural issues which prevents them from accessing mainstream services.

Commenting on the event, development manager at Simon on the Streets, Fahad Khan said:

“As a charity that is solely run on fundraising, donations and partnerships, Simon on the Streets relies heavily on support and volunteers, we’re excited to celebrate the hard work of our dedicated supporters and volunteers.

“We’re very grateful to have such committed and generous people supporting us, we really wanted to do something to show how much we appreciate them. The whole Simon on the Streets team is looking forward to celebrating in an evening of appreciation for our supporters”.

The Supporters Party is free to attend, anybody that would like to celebrate the work of Simon on the Streets and its supporters and volunteers is welcome. Tickets can be acquired via Eventbrite.
