Anthony Collins Solicitors lands spot on the North East’s largest public sector legal framework

Olwen Brown, Head of Local Government at Anthony Collins Solicitors

National law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors has secured a place on the North East’s largest public sector legal framework.

The North East Procurement Organisation’s (NEPO) Regional Legal Services Framework is used by 12 local authorities across the region, including Newcastle City Council, Durham County Council and Gateshead Council. The framework allows local authorities to directly commission legal services and avoid costly procurement processes.

By being appointed, Anthony Collins Solicitors will be able to access a pipeline of legal work worth on average £2.68bn per year. The firm will support three lots, including Litigation, Employment and General Requirement.

Olwen Brown, Head of Local Government at Anthony Collins Solicitors, said:

“Anthony Collins Solicitors has strong links with local authorities in the North East. By winning a place on the NEPO legal framework, we will be able to continue strengthening existing relationships, while developing new ones with other local authorities.

“As a social purpose law firm, we share the framework’s commitment to social value and believe that this type of collaborative procurement programme will allow many authorities to cut costs and direct funds to other more important areas.”

Operating from offices in Manchester and Birmingham, Anthony Collins Solicitors has a history of supporting national and local government legal frameworks, including the Crown Commercial Service, London Borough Legal Alliance and EM LawShare. To support its growth in this area, the firm has bolstered its local government team, with Sandy Munroe arriving as partner and Matt Marsh as a solicitor.
