St Helens based ATG Access, the world’s leading innovator of road blockers, bollards and barriers, has been crowned International Business of the Year at the ECHO Regional Business Awards 2018.
Celebrating the best businesses in the Liverpool region, the event – now in its 24th year – is hosted by the Liverpool ECHO in partnership with the Business Post magazine. Bringing together hundreds of city leaders, it honours the achievements of companies both big and small across 12 categories.
For the International Business of the Year award, ATG Access faced competition from the likes of Inciner8 International and Milexa Group, but came out on top to be awarded the accolade. Team members from across all departments attended the event, from engineering and purchasing to finance and the factory workshop, alongside sales director Gavin Hepburn, an instrumental force behind the company’s routes to export over the last 10 years.
The judges were impressed with the sustainable level of international growth ATG has achieved through exporting. Its latest projects have included the Heart of Doha Regeneration project in Qatar, The Bund security project in Shanghai, a large financial centre in Malaysia, a prestigious commercial tower in Germany and a governmental project in France.
Adding to the experienced revenue growth, ATG’s new and innovative product innovation – the Surface Guard system, has allowed the firm to enter existing markets with new technology.
In addition to its international clients, ATG has also undertaken large-scale projects in the UK market, including securing multiple, high profile stadiums.
Glenn Cooper, CEO of ATG Access, said: “We’ve experienced a year of considerable financial growth, with our annual turnover increasing by 12% on the previous year.
“A large portion of this success can be attributed to our export across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, which now sees our products supplied to 42 countries.
“Therefore, we couldn’t be more pleased to have been recognised as International Business of the Year at the ECHO Regional Business Awards – the perfect celebration of 10 years of export.”
