Bellway provides books for Wirral book hunt

Leading residential developer Bellway is continuing its commitment to improving access to books for children in Wirral by supporting an exciting local book hunt taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Run by local Usbourne book supplier Stef Hazlegreaves, the hunt is taking place across the local area from Saturday 4 May to Monday 6 May inclusive.

A wide range of books suitable for all reading ages and abilities will be hiding in different locations across Eastham, Bromborough, Greasby and Pensby. They will also be hidden at Bellway’s beautiful Arrowe Brook Park development on Arrowe Brook Road and in the public park opposite.

Stef will release clues to the location of the books on her Facebook page and is encouraging families to get out and look for them – if they find them, they can keep them. Those who are successful in finding one of the special book packs are invited to snap a selfie and share it to Stef’s Facebook page.

Stef said: “Regularly reading to children and children reading for pleasure are both so important in building invaluable lifelong language and literacy skills. Working with local businesses in Wirral, I developed the book hunt to get families out and about over the long weekend and to give them a chance to find free books. We’re delighted with the support we’ve received from companies such as Bellway and have been able to include so many more free books in the hunt.”

Bellway is committed to improving access to books for children in Wirr al and previously worked with Stef to donate new books to two local schools in Greasby to coincide with World Book Day in March.

Sales director at Bellway North West, Jenny Bell, added: “We had a great response from the local schools to our recent book donations and wanted to extend our support to Stef’s community book hunt. We look forward to welcoming families to Arrowe Brook Park to look for the hidden books!”

To get the book hunt underway, Stef and Bellway sales advisor Pauline Holmes will be working together to hide the first books around the Arrowe Brook Park development in readiness for the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

Once Upon A Book Nook’s book hunt officially takes place from Saturday 4 May to Monday 6 May inclusive. For more information and clues, interested book hunters are invited to visit Stef’s Facebook page.
