Beyond Housing has been shortlisted for a national award recognising its commitment to supporting customers and strengthening communities across Redcar and Cleveland and Scarborough.

The organisation has been named as a finalist in the We Care ProSolve Award category at the Travis Perkins Managed Services Better Together Awards 2026, in recognition of its Furniture Referral Scheme.

The We Care Award celebrates community initiatives that demonstrate outstanding commitment to caring for individuals, while fostering empathy and inclusivity.

Beyond Housing’s Furniture Referral Scheme enables housing officers to refer customers for a £300 voucher to help them access essential household items through local charity TEES. Depending on individual need, this can include items such as bedding, beds, white goods and small appliances.

The scheme is supported by wider wraparound assistance from the charity, which can include care packages, support with period poverty, access to clothing banks and referrals for additional help such as fuel or food vouchers. This ensures customers receive practical support alongside longer-term help to improve stability and wellbeing at home.

A Beyond Housing Customer, who had used the service, said: “This voucher has helped so much, without it I wouldn’t have had anything to move in with. I had to leave everything behind in my old home. I was also given more than I expected.”

The awards celebrate partnership working and social value delivered through managed services and community initiatives across the housing and construction sectors.

Rachael Crooks, Community Partnership & Engagement Manager at Beyond Housing, said: “We are really pleased to be shortlisted for the Travis Perkins Awards, our Furniture Referral scheme in partnership with TEES provides customers with furniture from beds & wardrobes to air fryers depending on the customer needs. From the referral TEES can provide customer access to clothing & poverty bank, fuel bank & foodbank referrals. To Beyond Housing, this scheme is about more the furniture, it’s that further support some of our customers need to make their house a home.”

Winners will be announced at the Better Together Awards ceremony on 5 March 2026, which will be held at Silverstone.
