An apprentice working at Dronfield-based financial planners, Belmayne, is joining the team on a permanent basis after successfully completing her studies.
Melissa Taylor will take up a fulltime position at the independent firm on November 5, when she qualifies from Chesterfield College with a diploma in business administration.
In her new role, Melissa will be undertaking general office duties including liaising with clients, data input and answering incoming enquiries, to meet growing administrative demand and retain service levels. Despite being furloughed during lockdown, she continued with her studies and has carried out the necessary practical training since returning to work to complete her apprenticeship as planned.
Laura Hayman, Belmayne’s practice manager, said: “Melissa has fitted into our close-knit team really well. She has grown in confidence in the year she has spent with us and understands what is required of her to fulfil an administrative role. Her manners and timekeeping are excellent and she is popular with clients. There is no doubt she will be a real asset to the firm, as her knowledge of financial services increases and she gains more work experience.”
Belmayne encourages all staff to study towards relevant qualifications to better understand their job and clients’ expectations. Melissa is now embarking on the R01 unit of a diploma in regulated financial services, which will develop her awareness of financial legislation and the industry’s code of ethics.
