Cumbria-based Homebuilder Retains Its 5-Star Excellence Rating

Cumbria-based homebuilder, Russell Armer Homes, has again demonstrated its commitment to customer service excellence by earning a Home Builders Federation (HBF) Five-Star Rating for the second year in a row.

Russell Armer Homes, which has been building first-class homes since 1961, is one of only 20 homebuilders in the country to earn a 5-Star Rating through this rigorously policed award scheme.

The Kendal-based new home builder was awarded a plaque to recognise its achievement in gaining the highest rating possible, at an event held in London on March 21, attended by Russell Armer Homes’ managing director, Martyn Nicholson, and its construction director, Andrew Taylor.

The HBF Star Rating awards are based on customer responses to the National New Homes Survey, conducted by the National House Building Council (NHBC). Owners of new homes built and purchased during the year are asked to rate the service they received from their homebuilder. Based on these responses, a Star Rating of between one and five stars can be awarded.

Earning a five-star accolade, at a time when the construction industry is under pressure to increase the volume of new homes built, is no mean feat. Russell Armer Homes bases its success on having a company culture fully focused on customer satisfaction at every operating level within the business. From their induction onwards, every employee understands why delivering excellence in customer service matters.

Martyn Nicholson says: “In a way, it is harder to retain a 5-Star Rating than to earn it for the first time, so we are extremely proud that our employees never rest on their laurels and continually strive for excellence. This is the reason we have been awarded this rating for the past two years.

“The whole team deserves this HBF Star Rating recognition, which can be used by the consumer as evidence that we do not just talk about service excellence, but actually deliver it.”
