An eggs-traordinary donation has been made to two branches of the Trussell Trust Food Bank Charity in the region, as a Yorkshire housebuilder rallied its residents, communities, and staff to donate to its Easter Egg Drive.

Over the last three weeks, Miller Homes, asked for Easter egg donations to be dropped off at its sales centres across the region, and then hosted a coffee morning at its regional head office to collate all the eggs and accept further donations by the team.

“This has been a great initiative and brought all the team together which was really enjoyable after so long apart,” said Debbie Whittingham, Sales Director, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “We are pleased with how well it went, and hope that the eggs bring a little Easter joy to those who really deserve it.”

Over 150 easter eggs were donated and these are to be shared equally between two local food banks, both of which are part of the Trussell Trust and which support families in East Yorkshire and Leeds and West Yorkshire.

Mandy Thomlinson, Project Manager, East Yorkshire Foodbank commented; “Thanks to the generosity of the Miller Homes team, Easter Eggs have been able to be provided to more children than we had hoped. It’s particularly tough this year for everyone and we appreciate the gestures of kindness that everyone who donated has made.”
