Grant Thornton picks Influential for North of England and Scotland brief

Sara Wilde-McKeown, MD of Influential

Influential has been selected to deliver an integrated communications campaign for business advisory firm Grant Thornton UK LLP across the North of England and Scotland.

The move extends the agency’s remit and follows a competitive pitch process which saw four retained agencies reduced to one.

Influential, which has offices in Manchester, Liverpool and London is now working with Grant Thornton’s 13 business units across the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland. The agency has been retained in the North West by Grant Thornton since 2008.

The win follows two other appointments in professional services.

Influential has been appointed as the retained PR agency for Jackson Lees Group. The award-winning, full-service law firm is headquartered in Liverpool, with over 280 employees based across six North West offices. One of the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’, the group is made up of Broudie Jackson Canter and Jackson Lees.

Influential is also to provide a national integrated communications campaign for law firm, CEL Solicitors, which operates from a base in Liverpool and specialises in civil litigation. The programme includes content creation, research and insights, social media engagement and website design, as well as media and influencer relations. The campaign is aimed at engaging audiences across a range of channels and platforms.

Sara Wilde-McKeown, Managing Director of Influential, said: “Our brief for Grant Thornton has evolved over more than a decade, reacting to a changing media landscape and an increasingly-crowded advisory marketplace where B2B social channels have become all-important.

“This expanded remit reflects our ability to create campaigns which harness PR, digital and owned-events seamlessly. But it also stands as evidence to the way we look after our client relationships. We constantly appraise our approach, refresh it where needed, and look for incremental marginal gains wherever possible.

“Our work for Grant Thornton in the North West has highlighted and built upon its strong performance in the midmarket, shaping is reputation as the go-to advisor for scaling SMEs with high-growth potential.

“We are also very pleased to be working with legal firms Jackson Lees Group and CEL Solicitors – projects that speak to our strengths in developing campaigns which harness PR, digital and owned-events. This is a compelling proposition for companies looking for a communications partner to drive growth and engagement effectively with their key markets.”

The trio of wins further extends the agency’s reach into the pan-regional professional service market, building on the long term relationship it has with law firm Shoosmiths, which retains Influential across Yorkshire and the North West.
