Huddersfield-based drainage experts Metro Rod West Yorkshire are working hard to build awareness of water pollution and the effects non-biodegradable waste is having on our environment and business. Such waste does not decompose naturally, therefore, causing pollution and harm to our future. For example chemicals, paints, plastic, rubber, toxic, metals, etc that substances do not degrade easily or by the action of natural agents.
Evidence gathered by the Environmental Agency has proven only 26% of England’s groundwater (rivers, lakes and seas) are close to their natural state rather than the Governments 25 Year Environment Plan target of 75%. According to Recycle Now, with 79% of all the plastic ever produced still being in our environment, the estimated date where there will be more plastic than fish in the sea is 2050.
It is becoming noticeable that our population is becoming aware of the impact of pollution including the disposal of non-biodegradable items at home however this isn’t continued in the workplace.
