Launch of Aaron & Partners Flintshire HR Lunch Club hailed a success

A collection of Flintshire businesses took part in a free workshop organised by legal firm Aaron & Partners, which focused on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Employment Law Solicitor Steve Davies hosted the session at Theatre Clwyd in Mold, alongside Claire Flavin, Trainee Solicitor. The session explored topics including how to safeguard employees’ mental wellbeing, what to do if staff appear to be struggling, and how to avoid disability discrimination claims.

The workshop was the first in a series of HR Lunch Club events being delivered by Aaron & Partners in the Flintshire region, building on the success of similar workshops that have taken place in Chester, Shrewsbury and the Wirral.

Steve said: “We’re really pleased with how well attended our first Flintshire event was. We had a great mix of HR professionals, business owners and managers join us to talk about a really important workplace topic.

“As well as bringing together like-minded business professionals in the local area, these workshops have also highlighted that a lot of HR professionals and business owners appreciate how important it is to encourage their employees to be open and to talk about their mental health.

“Taking these workshops to different destinations has been really interesting for us as we’ve learnt a huge amount from the feedback we’ve received. It means we can continuously add new ideas and topics to the sessions to ensure they are helpful and insightful for everyone that attends.”

Future bi-monthly free workshops are expected to cover topics such as dealing with grievances effectively, managing sickness absence, disciplinary procedures and social media in employment law.

The next Flintshire HR Lunch Club event will take place on Tuesday 26 November 2019.
