The Huddersfield & District Society of Chartered Accountants has a new President – Peter Crowther, principal of Peter Crowther & Co, Chartered Accounts,Halifax. Peter is presented with the badge of office by the outgoing President Carolyn Atkinson, at the Annual General Meeting.
Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Armitage & Norton of Huddersfield and commenced in his own practice in Halifax in 1979.
Peter said “I am extremely honoured and proud to be appointed as President of the Huddersfield & District Society of Chartered Accountants, which includes Calderdale. I look forward to promoting the business communities of both Kirklees and Calderdale and forging strong links between all our members by developing our social and business activities throughout my year in office.
We already have a number of social events planned including golf days, Christmas lunches, charity quiz night, beer tasting evening, carol service at Huddersfield Parish Church, culminating in our annual dinner in March 2019.
My chosen charity for the year is the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and I urge members (and their guests) to support these events in aid of such a worthwhile cause. We never know when we ourselves may need their help”.
