North East Designer Celebrates Successful Second Year for Creative Agency

Sharon Armstrong Creative Celebrates Successful Second Year

A North East designer and illustrator has brought her creative skills to a new audience after a successful start two years on from the launch of Sharon Armstrong Creative.

Sharon Armstrong founded Sharon Armstrong Creative in 2020 following 20+ successful years as part of the North East design community. Having worked for large corporates as well as smaller brands, Sharon wanted to use her extensive experience in the delivery of design and creative services from her base in North Shields.

Previously, Sharon worked in-house at Tommee Tippee as well as agency side working across marketing, branding and packaging projects where her passion for design has created award-winning work during her long career.

Sharon comments: “In this new working world, flexibility has become key for many employees. After toying with the idea for quite some time, I decided in March 2020 that the time was right to set up my own consultancy. With the growth of social media, our reliance on good quality design has increased exponentially and the need to create professional and engaging visuals is a key part of what I can offer.

“The last two years has seen a huge amount of change for me as I took on the position of freelance designer and illustrator. I’ve been really quite blown away by the response to date. Setting up a business during a pandemic isn’t for everyone but I’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic clients on a series of wonderful projects.”

Sharon’s skills as a designer covers a wide range of areas including packaging design and brand development, as well as traditional marketing materials, annual reports and, increasingly, social media branding.

Sharon comments: “Generally I work with clients from inception to final delivery on an array of projects but lockdown has helped to inspire a truly new way of working across the board for so many. Remote working is now much more accepted and there is a greater understanding that external consultants can bring a flexible style of working for brands looking for additional design resource but without necessarily being restricted by geographic location.”

Sharon Armstrong Creative has recently completed a large-scale branding project for a training provider as well as working with a number of marketing agencies and local businesses looking for outsourced freelance support.

Sharon continues: ““I’ve had so many amazing opportunities to work on projects from all over the UK and being able to expand my services beyond the borders of the North East has been such a blessing. It’s been a busy but fantastic couple of years and I am so looking forward to where Sharon Armstrong Creative will go in the future.”
