The Lord Mayor of Leeds recently welcomed a global environmental protection specialist to University of Leeds’ innovation hub, Nexus.
The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Asghar Khan, said: “It is an honour to officially welcome Andel to University of Leeds’ Nexus innovation hub as it embarks on a major project to develop flood barriers from recycled plastic.
The Yorkshire-based manufacturer has nearly 30 years’ experience in flood defence and water, oil and gas leak detection and an impressive customer base which includes the Houses of Parliament, The Pentagon, Hong Kong International Airport and Google.
The SME has joined the Nexus community at a time of growth, with recruitment underway for 30 new employees.”
The growing manufacturer recently relocated to more modern premises in Barnsley to match ambitions for future growth as well as being a net carbon zero business by 2025.
