Generous staff at Pickerings lifts have helped raised hundreds of pounds for local charity Bloodrun EVS at their annual fundraising event.

The company, based in Stockton on Tees, hold an annual charity fair for staff at their head office, with food, fancy dress, games, quizzes and prizes.

This year, staff chose to raise funds for Bloodrun EVS, a Teesside-based charity that provides a courier service to transport blood, X-rays, samples and other medical materials to NHS hospitals and trusts out of hours.

Established in 2010, Bloodrun volunteers give up their time to provide this vital service, saving the NHS service over £70,000 each year.
Bloodrun volunteer riders attended the event to provide more information about the charity and the work they do. Over £370 was donated at the event by office staff and engineers.

Martin Dixon, Marketing Officer for Bloodrun EVS said: “We receive no government funding and rely on donations from the public, so we were very happy to be nominated as Pickerings Lifts’ charity and would like to thank all the staff for digging deep.”

Ian Bowers, Managing Director for Pickerings Lifts said: “We were delighted to be able to raise money for a charity that provides such a valuable service across the North East, and it was a pleasure to have representatives from Bloodrun join us on the day to tell us more about the service they provide.”
