Recruiter set to boost expansion at Dow Schofield Watts

Cath Priestley joins Dow Schofield Watts as Recruitment Manager to accelerate its expansion throughout the UK regions.

Independent advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts has appointed Cath Priestley as Recruitment Manager to accelerate its expansion throughout the UK regions.

Cath, who joins from boutique agency Tindall Perry, has 15 years’ experience in recruitment, primarily in the finance sector.

In her new role, she will be recruiting experienced finance professionals and teams who want to set up their own business under the Dow Schofield Watts brand, as well as supporting the growth of existing business units within the group. Dow Schofield Watts plans to appoint 20 new partners in the next 18 months as it continues to add new service lines and open new offices in addition to the existing locations in Daresbury, Manchester, Leeds, London and Aberdeen.

Cath, who will be based at the group’s head office in Daresbury, says: “Finance professionals are increasingly more entrepreneurial and many are seeking greater autonomy over their careers to enhance their work-life balance. The clear message is that pursuing a career in a ‘big four’ firm is no longer the only route to achieving success. Dow Schofield Watts offers professionals a genuine alternative and opportunity to work alongside leading individuals.”

Established in 2002, Dow Schofield Watts now has over 70 professionals and ranks as a top 75 accountancy firm, offering ‘everything but audit’.

James Dow, founding partner, said: “Our business has been expanding rapidly in recent years and the current changes taking place within the accountancy profession offer potential for much further growth. Our model is proving very attractive to professionals seeking a life outside the ‘big four’ firms. With Cath’s expertise in recruitment, she is ideally placed to help us identify high-calibre professionals seeking a fresh start and give them the chance to build their own business as part of the Dow Schofield Watts group.”
