Clovemead Headquarters

Poppleton & Appleby are pleased to announce that there has been a successful sale of the Clovemead Limited corporate headquarters in Warrington.

Clovemead Limited, a highly regarded and familiar name in the North West with a significant national presence since 1980, went into Administration in March 2019. The firm appointed Allan Cadman and Charles Brook, partners in Manchester-based advisory and business recovery practice Poppleton & Appleby, as Joint Administrators.

They had operated out of premises in Warrington and Widnes, employing over 50 staff and had close relationships with numerous trusted sub-contractors across the region, providing services to various blue-chip and high-expectancy clients as well as local authorities, universities, schools and colleges, automotive manufacturers, distributors, and retail services.

The 3,000 sq. ft. building has been sold to Bright Futures Care, who are a specialist organisation supporting young people with complex learning, communication and sensory needs to access meaningful education and community living experiences. Supported by Freeths solicitors and sold by WT Gunson, the joint administrators are particularly happy with the sale.

Allan Cadman, Joint Administrator based in Poppleton & Appleby’s Manchester office, said: “Not only was the amount realised a very positive figure, which will help to keep our projected return to unsecured creditors reasonably accurate, but the property has been sold to a company who intend to use the old rectory to help young people with complex needs, a very fitting purpose given the original history of the building and its relationship with the church.”
