Taylor&Emmet opens doors to free wills advice

Taylor&Emmet LLP is inviting families from Sheffield and North East Derbyshire to drop in on its probate experts and find out all they need to know about making a will.

The firm is launching free surgeries at its Banner Cross and Dronfield offices to answer local residents’ questions about any type of wills and probate matter.

Commencing this week (March 5), the afternoon sessions will be hosted by specialist solicitors, Clare Davies in Dronfield and Natalie Sheldon at Banner Cross. They will run every Wednesday and Friday afternoon respectively, from 3-5pm.

Anyone with a question about making, reviewing or updating a will can drop in during surgery hours or call in advance for an appointment. The pair will also be happy to discuss issues such as administering an estate, making Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and tax planning, plus elderly client services and long-term care.

Natalie Sheldon, a probate specialist at Taylor&Emmet’s Banner Cross office, said: “We know it is difficult to find time to address making a will, but it shouldn’t be overlooked. Our surgeries provide an opportunity for shoppers and local residents or workers to call in and speak to an expert at a time that’s convenient. We can explain the process, discuss things to consider and give an estimate of the costs involved, so visitors can make informed choices about how to structure or administer an estate.”

Taylor&Emmet recommends reviewing an existing will every five years to take account of changing circumstances and new legislation. To find out more about its free probate surgeries, call (0114) 218 4000, visit www.tayloremmet.co.uk or follow the firm on Twitter.
