The Accountancy Partnership open recruitment for popular paid trainee programme

Trainees from the Junior Accountant Programme at The Accountancy Partnership

A Wirral-based digital accountancy practice has opened recruitment for its paid training scheme that will nurture future talent in the sector.

The Accountancy Partnership (TAP), who have headquarters in Birkenhead, has created the Junior Accountant Programme to bolster its commitment to create jobs in the area.

The 12-month course will provide trainees with ‘fast-track immersive training’ in every aspect of accounting by the company’s senior accountants.

In what is believed to be a first for the sector, trainees will have the unique opportunity to manage their own portfolio of clients, giving invaluable client-facing experience from the outset of their new career.

Trainees will learn about and use a variety of online accounting software which will place them at the cutting edge of digital accountancy.

TAP is encouraging students, young professionals or anybody looking for a career change to apply for the popular programme, which begins on 1st September and has limited availability. Two more programmes are planned for February and May 2024.

There is no age limit for trainees who want to join the Junior Accounting Programme which offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000 a year for the duration of the course with an earning potential of £50,000 for graduates.

Lee Murphy, Managing Director of TAP, has also vowed to pay for trainees’ qualifications with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and Association for Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).

Kevin Markham started on the course after spending 22 years in the RAF. He said: “My friends and family couldn’t believe that I was going into an office job and working in accountancy.

“I have my own assigned clients and they’ll ring directly for consultations. I’ve been working on accounts with my mentor, Dean, and there’s a sense of achievement when everything is to his satisfaction.”

Former chef Ben Warren, 26, added: “I knew absolutely nothing about bookkeeping but through learning all the basics I’m able to work confidently for clients.

“The course is very comprehensive. The structure and quality of the training is so good, learning about a subject I had no knowledge in at the beginning doesn’t feel overwhelming.

“It is a bit nerve-wracking when it’s all so brand new, but all the mentors are dedicated to helping everyone further their careers – so you don’t need to be nervous at all.”

TAP was founded in 2006 and now helps more than 13,000 clients in hospitality, construction, IT, healthcare, property and e-commerce.

The company, which also has an office at Canary Wharf in London, offers online accountancy services, including a dedicated accountant, completion of accounts and tax returns and its own online accounting software, Pandle, to businesses nationwide for a low, fixed monthly fee.

TAP’s services are available to limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, contractors, start-ups, and limited liability partnerships (LLP).

Managing Director Lee Murphy said: “We’re hoping to find some of the brightest minds from Wirral who will join us in supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs based around the UK.

“The trainees for our Junior Accountant Programme will become part of a fast-paced sector and a company that values their skills and well-being while delivering an outstanding service at the forefront of progressive accounting.

“Our trainees, whether they’re leaving education or ready for a career change, will be a new generation of digital-savvy accountants well-equipped to support modern businesses.”
