Third Law Society President at Schofield Sweeney as Manjit Virdee is appointed President of the Bradford Law Society

Manjit Virdee, Partner at Schofield Sweeney, is appointed President of the Bradford Law Society

Schofield Sweeney can now boast three current Law Society Presidents as Manjit joins Ashley Iredale (Partner, Private Client) who holds the position at the Huddersfield Law Society and David Cowgill (Associate, Commercial Property) who holds the position at the Leeds Law Society.

Manjit has worked at Yorkshire-based law firm Schofield Sweeney for over 12 years, specialising in Real Estate Banking and Secured Finance. Part of one of the largest commercial property teams in Yorkshire, Manjit advises a wide range of financial institutions, including HSBC and Santander, on transactions, acquisitions and complex negotiations.

His new role commenced on 19th September and he is determined to promote the Bradford Law Society by seeking to expand the number of law firms and solicitors participating in the Society as well as raising awareness of mental health and the wellbeing of solicitors and their employees.

Manjit Virdee, Commercial Property Partner, said “I am honored to take the position of president and represent the profession and our members and look forward to continuing the good work of past presidents and am thankful for the support they have shown me”.

Each President represents the interest of lawyers and law firms in their area and nurturing those entering the profession.

Four trainees at the firm celebrated qualifying and gaining roles at the firm last week as three new trainees took their seats.
