Yorkshire-based Gala Tent has shown signs of growth during September 2019, despite the continued uncertainty around Brexit. The firm, which has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and secured a prestigious award for Best Use of Digital Technology in a Contact Centre, is now planning growth for 2020 by adding a new outbound B2B team to its numbers.

The newly formed department will look to hit the ground running, with the addition of two very experienced members. Donovan Oliver, who has twelve years contact centre experience working and managing in both B2B and B2C environments, has joined as Team Leader, with Michael Bailey partnering him in the role of Sales Associate, and the company is planning more acquisitions over the next twelve months.

Headed up by group CEO Jason Mace, together with business partner Mark Thompson, Gala Tent is a manufacturer and supplier of commercial marquees, gazebos and accessories to the event industry.

Following a recent complete website and operational systems overhaul developed by a team of experts, the firm now includes print solutions brand Gala Graphics and specialist motorsport supplier and race team, Gala Performance.

Group CEO Jason Mace comments: “This is an unbelievably exciting development, for we are now taking on a total digital marketing transformation. By adding podcast and now Gala TV we are really moving forward.

Running a business over the last 3 years has been challenging, especially when dealing with a fluctuating exchange rate and market uncertainty due to Brexit. The company has had to be more creative than ever to maintain a profit with increasing competition from Europe.

I don’t see a problem with Brexit. For me, in business there is always a positive in any situation. If you’re looking for the negatives, then of course you will find them. I believe there will be a lot of commercial opportunity after we leave the EU, even if there is no deal reached, and I fully intend to grab those opportunities for my business.”

Recently Jason Mace launched his first entrepreneurial book Event Industry Boss: The Secret to Becoming Successful in the Event Industry. Combining anecdotal glimpses into Mace’s twenty years’ experience in the event industry, with self-help manual and a series of interviews and case studies with followers of Mace’s methods, the book has been an instant hit with budding business owners, with one reader using Jason as a case study for business success in their own entrepreneurial journey.

Founded in 1999, Gala Tent has grown to sell over 15,000 tents and marquees each year, along with around 90,000 event accessories and furniture products in the UK.

In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for organisations including the military, NHS, the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police Service, St John’s Ambulance and AA, as well as to thousands of business and homeowners nationally.
