York car retailer whisks up a storm for tasty fundraiser

Macmillan

Team members at local car retailer, Ray Chapman Motors, are raring to whisk up a storm as they prepare to take part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

On Friday 27 September, from 9am to 4pm, Ray Chapman Motors, on Great North Way, York, is inviting local people to pop in for coffee, cake and a chat – all while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning took place in 1990. This relatively small affair became a hugely successful national event, and has since raised over £200 million for Macmillan.

Team members at Ray Chapman Motors are hoping that their homemade treats will tempt local people to help them raise even more money to support the millions of people suffering with cancer in the UK.

Ray Chapman, Retailer Principal at Ray Chapman Motors, said: “Every year, we are proud to host a Coffee Morning and use the opportunity to thank Macmillan for their incredible work in supporting people affected by cancer.

“Cancer impacts everyone, either personally or through close friends, colleagues and relatives. It’s important for us to show our support and raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

“The team are eagerly baking in preparation, so I look forward to meeting some friendly faces and catching up with the community over a cup of coffee and some delicious homemade cake.”
