Yorkshire chemical company tees up charity golf event

A West Yorkshire chemical company is calling on local amateur and experienced golfers to take part in its latest community event.

Airedale Chemical is holding a charity golf day in aid of Sunbeam Support Group which it has pledged to support throughout 2019.

Golfers of all abilities are invited to the event at Keighley Golf Club on Friday 6 September. There will be a prize for the longest drive and the player nearest the pin. Players will be fuelled by coffee and bacon sandwiches before the game and it will be followed by a two-course dinner at the club house.

Sunbeam Support Group offers help following the loss of a baby through meetings, bereavement resources and events. All proceeds raised throughout the day will go directly to the group, based in Keighley.

Chris Chadwick, managing director of Airedale Chemical, explains: “This is going to be a really fun and entertaining day out for local residents and businesses with plenty of laughter and healthy and competition. However, at the heart of the day will be the incredible work that the Sunbeam Support Group do with bereaved families and every penny we raise will be a huge boost to the difference they’re making to people’s lives.”

The competition is open to teams of four and the cost is £240 per group. The event opens from 11am for refreshments followed by a shotgun start at 1pm.

Airedale Chemical’s charity golf day is the latest initiative from the company’s Airedale Foundation which is committed to forge links and offer support to the local community.
