6B Sets its Sights on Success with £11,000 from the LEP’s #Grow Grant

Founding Director of 6B, Paul Brown

6B, the development agency based in West Yorkshire, has secured £11,000 from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, the LEP’s Digital Investment Fund, #Grow, which will be used to support its ongoing expansion.

The funding from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (the LEP), is delivered by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, through the Leeds City Region Growth Deal; a £1billion package of Government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region.

Successfully completing the two-stage process, the agency submitted a proposal to showcase how it would invest the funds to allow its team of experts to work on more complicated briefs. Managing project development and collaboration better, with more powerful computing equipment, 6B will be able to cope with more demanding requirements.

Furthermore, the grant will be used to extend the team with the appointment of at least one senior developer. Identifying talent that will complement the skills already available within the agency, the candidate will manage complex signature projects that require specific programming languages, build structures and other digital development variables.

Additional funds will also be redirected to develop the agency’s bespoke CRM product, Dashboard. With intentions to sell this product as a service across the world, 6B will extend its interoperability to work as a standalone product and as a foundational framework for a variety of business management systems.

Built using the latest technology, Dashboard will be available on all modern devices as a web application or native app and will support customers with ERPs, customer portals and inventory management systems, as well as being integrated with existing business management systems to deliver greater functionality.

Managing Director of 6B, Paul Brown, comments: “The £11,000 we have secured from the LEP’s #Grow Fund means that we can pull forward our plans. We have expanded our team and our services over the years, but this will allow us to invest and focus on our Dashboard product too.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time for us as we continue to win new and more complicated briefs for both private and public sector organisations. Knowing we can appoint a further developer will provide us with the resource to meet with the needs of an increasing number of clients and projects.

“Despite being a challenging year in many ways, we have expanded our team and our portfolio of clients. We hope that with this injection of funds, we can continue to share the good news and positive steps we are taking.”

Quality of service and technological innovation is at the heart of 6B’s practices. With its eyes set on becoming a leading global force in web and app development, the agency’s future development plan aims to secure a £10.2m turnover and a team of 100 employees.

Roger Marsh OBE DL, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (the LEP) and NP11 said: “Helping individual businesses take their next step is crucial to the broader growth across Leeds City Region, as we work towards an inclusive economic recovery. We remain focused on our support of this sector, and the lifecycle of business growth, which enables job creation and maintains the talent pipeline.”

Continually expanding its client base in breadth and complexity, 6B has worked with several large private-sector clients including Candy Kittens and ITV, as well as ambitious start-ups such as Career Street and Trip Aid. In addition, it has managed projects for public sector organisations including Public Health England, Bradford District Council, and a number of education and lifestyle bodies.
