The Anwyl Group has appointed 19-year-old Jessica Phillips from Hawarden to the role of trainee health and safety advisor.
Working alongside Mathew Harrison and Greg Roberts, Jessica will help implement Anwyl’s health and safety strategy ensuring that the group meets its ongoing health and safety obligations.
She will collate health and safety information, assist with health and safety inductions and inspections, undertake office health and safety assessments, update the health and safety noticeboards and provide on site health and safety training.
She is keen to develop as a health and safety trainee and eventually become a fully qualified health and safety advisor within the Anwyl Group.
Jessica already has valuable professional health and safety experience. Prior to joining Anwyl, she worked for a family landscaping business, preparing risk assessments and method statements and ensuring that the company complied with safe systems of work within the catering industry and on civil engineering sites.
The move to Anwyl was a great opportunity for her; she had always admired the Group and was keen to further her career within a larger and highly successful company.

Working for a larger company is an excellent career opportunity for me and I am looking forward to putting some of my theoretical studies into practice.”

Keen to continue her professional development, Jessica is currently working towards her NEBOSH General Certificate. A local girl, she has lived in Hawarden for all of her life, and enjoys socialising with friends, keeping fit and going to the gym in her leisure time.
